Citizenship ceremonies in Redland
This page is for people becoming Australian citizens in the Redland City Council area. The council holds five ceremonies a year. The next one is on 4 November.
How you are invited
After Home Affairs approves you, the council invites you to the next ceremony, about three to four weeks before. Home Affairs picks the people, so do not ask the council if you are on the list. This is usually within six months of approval.
When ceremonies are held

What happens at the ceremony
You make the Australian Citizenship Pledge in front of the people at the ceremony. You become an Australian citizen when you make the pledge, not before. After the pledge you should receive your citizenship certificate. If it is not ready on the day, it comes by post.
