Citizenship ceremonies in Parramatta
This page is for people becoming Australian citizens in the City of Parramatta area. Ceremonies are usually every second month at Riverside Theatres. The council says local people wait about 3 months.
How you are invited
Home Affairs chooses who comes and sends you a letter with the date, time and place. The council cannot move anyone up the list. Make sure ImmiAccount has your current email address.

Guests and what to wear
Your family and friends can come, but there is not much room for guests.
There are two pledges to choose from, and only one of them mentions God. New citizens can also hand in electoral roll forms after the ceremony.

What happens at the ceremony
You make the Australian Citizenship Pledge in front of the people at the ceremony. You become an Australian citizen when you make the pledge, not before. After the pledge you should receive your citizenship certificate. If it is not ready on the day, it comes by post.
