Citizenship ceremonies in Rockingham

This page is for people becoming Australian citizens in the City of Rockingham area. In 2026 the city holds monthly ceremonies on Mondays, and the wait is 3 to 6 months. The next listed date is 2 November.

How you are invited

After approval, Home Affairs puts you in the next ceremony. The city gets the invitation list six weeks before and emails invitations at once, with family on one invitation. Please confirm your place by the RSVP date. Only Home Affairs can change your date. You must attend within 12 months of approval.

  • photo ID, if you were over 16 when you applied
  • any other items listed on your invitation

Guests and what to wear

Single people can bring one guest and dependent children aged 16 and under. A family can bring one guest, plus dependent children. Extra guests may be refused entry.

Smart, as your invitation says.

The Mayor leads most ceremonies. You need to wait 10 working days after the ceremony to apply for a passport.

What happens at the ceremony

You make the Australian Citizenship Pledge in front of the people at the ceremony. You become an Australian citizen when you make the pledge, not before. After the pledge you should receive your citizenship certificate. If it is not ready on the day, it comes by post.
