Citizenship ceremonies in Wanneroo
This page is for people becoming Australian citizens in the City of Wanneroo area. The city says ceremonies are held every three months at the Civic Centre. The usual wait is 3 to 6 months from the approval letter.
How you are invited
The city cannot give you a date until it gets a planning report from Home Affairs, about six weeks before a ceremony. It then sends your invitation four weeks before, by email if you gave one, and by letter if not. To change your date, go through Home Affairs.
When ceremonies are held
The city says ceremonies are held every three months at the Civic Centre, though older news items mention monthly ones.

Guests and what to wear
You can bring 1 guest. Children are the exception.
A ceremony takes about 1 hour. You can get your certificate on the day if you booked in at least four weeks before. Children aged 16 and over must come, and younger children are welcome.

What happens at the ceremony
You make the Australian Citizenship Pledge in front of the people at the ceremony. You become an Australian citizen when you make the pledge, not before. After the pledge you should receive your citizenship certificate. If it is not ready on the day, it comes by post.
