Citizenship ceremonies in Camden

This page is for people becoming Australian citizens in the Camden Council area. The council holds five ceremonies each year, and the next listed one is on 10 November 2026. In 2025 it welcomed 928 new citizens.

How you are invited

Home Affairs decides on applications and gives you the date, time and place. The council sends the invitation 2 to 4 weeks before, and has no part in the decision. If you cannot come, tell Home Affairs. You may be invited to a later ceremony, but you may lose your approval if you have not pledged within 12 months.

Coming ceremony dates

  • Tuesday 10 November 2026

Dates can change. Your invitation gives your own date and time.

Guests and what to wear

Dress for the occasion, in a way that fits its importance. National or cultural dress is allowed.

You must attend in your own council area. Ceremonies are generally within six months of approval.

What happens at the ceremony

You make the Australian Citizenship Pledge in front of the people at the ceremony. You become an Australian citizen when you make the pledge, not before. After the pledge you should receive your citizenship certificate. If it is not ready on the day, it comes by post.
