Citizenship ceremonies in Mornington Peninsula
This page is for people becoming Australian citizens in the Mornington Peninsula Shire area. The shire lists six ceremonies for 2026, and the next one is on 9 December at 6.30pm. Ceremonies are by invitation only and are not open to the public.
How you are invited
Home Affairs, not the shire, sends your invitation about 4 weeks before. It usually comes three to six months after approval. It has the date, the place, the ID you need and how to RSVP.

What happens at the ceremony
You make the Australian Citizenship Pledge in front of the people at the ceremony. You become an Australian citizen when you make the pledge, not before. After the pledge you should receive your citizenship certificate. If it is not ready on the day, it comes by post.
